Hello Friends,
We're here in Yakima as we rest and prepare to head for The Gorge
and tonight's show there. We arrived here this morning after what was
described by our driver as "quite a rough ride," which as
usual I slept through. I've come to accept the fact that "rough
ride" equals "sound sleep" for me. Bad for driver, but
good for me!
Last night in Idaho Falls, Idaho we played to one of the loudest audiences
we've heard in recent memory. They were ready to rock despite the unseasonably
cold weather. It had been windy all day, with storm clouds looming
on the horizon, and the concert site did experience showers in the
afternoon, but as is our usual good fortune, the skies cleared in time
for our show. Idaho is a beautiful place and we want to get back as
soon as we can.
Now we're only a few hours away from going to what has been awarded "Venue
of the Year" by promoters for the last several years and for good
reason. It's backdrop is a gargantuan gorge cut over millions of years
by the Columbia River and all band productions pale in comparison.
We generally put up the minimum of ours so as not to try and compete.
Tomorrow morning we'll all be headed home for a few days before making
our way to Dallas to perform at the Crossroads Guitar Festival.
See you there!
