28-Jun-96 --Give me Memphis, Tennessee... Tonight in Memphis, STYX was welcomed by a sold out crowd at the world famous Mud Island amphitheater. "We have always had a special relationship with the Memphis fans and tonight was another page in that continuing story," waxed Chuck Panozzo backstage after the meet and greet with fans and contest winners. --Careful what you say in jest... James Young's 9-month-pregnant cousin and her husband were among the guests tonight in Memphis. He had teased her about going into labor during the concert, but when he saw an ambulance pull up near the backstage area during the show, he thought maybe he'd placed too powerful a suggestion into the cosmos. Turned out to be an unrelated false alarm and his cousin left the show still 9 months pregnant and JY breathed an audible sigh of relief... --Styx out his tongue and says AHH... Tommy Shaw went to see the ear, nose and throat doctor this afternoon in Memphis and it quickly escalated into an impromptu autograph signing session. "It was getting a bit active when I left the waiting room for the examination room, but when I came back out to pay the bill, George (Styx tour manager) had given everyone 8"x10"s and CD's and we all had a good laugh as I signed them all," said Shaw. "I also got the scoop on the other singers who have come through the Memphis doctor's office lately..." |
