This concert was booked to satisfy overwhelming demand in the Washington DC/Baltimore Marketplace. This was the 3rd Paradise Arena show in the area in 1981, and we gave WPGC a “full” presents package.

Scott Shannon (WPGC FM & AM) helped us create a memorable promotion in Baltimore/Washington D.C. where giveaways by the hour counted down to the STYX concert. Named Paradise Unlimited, the promotion offered Hundreds of STYX prizes. A huge event for WPGC and we stuck with Scott at every great radio station he lent his highly original and wildly entertaining brand of radio including WPLJ/New York, Q105/Tampa and The great “Pirate” in LA. The second promo plays out the payoff. Jerseys, jackets, limos, front row seats and a European Trek with STYX were the prizes and the on air contest created a market sensation for WPGC and a headache for Scott’s competitor, Q107. |
